Remote Medical Biller

We are seeking a professional Hospital Medical Biller to join a growing team. This position is based out of Columbia, SC but can be FULLY Remote. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in Hospital Medical Billing, will be comfortable with using Epic Software, and will have strong in-depth knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding.

Job Description:

• Identify, address, and correct the claim edits/holds
• Ensure claim edits/holds are cleared accurately
• Work closely with the billing departments and coding areas to obtain the information needed to correct edits and holds
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, and maintain confidentiality of patient and claim information
• Accurately input and maintain claim data into the hospital’s claim management system
• Track and report on claim status, including outstanding issues and ensure timely resolution
• Monitor trends in claim rejections or denials and work with relevant departments to address recurring issues
• Generate reports on claim status, trends, and outcomes for internal review and decision making

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• Medical Billing or Coding Certification (Required)
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration (Preferred)
• 2-3 years of medical billing expereince in a hospital setting
• Strong Experience with ICD-10, Hospital Revenue Codes, CPT, and HCPCS coding
• Expereince with Epic (Preferred)
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suites

Hours:

• Monday to Friday (8am to 5pm)
• PLEASE NOTE: If you are NOT located in Eastern Standard Time Zone you MUST be willing to work on the Eastern Time Zone schedule.

Compensation & Benefits:

• $18 – $22 hourly
