We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our growing team in Greenville, SC. This role is crucial to leading and optimizing maintenance functions across our manufacturing facility. About the Role
As the Maintenance Manager, you will lead a team of 12 maintenance professionals and report directly to the VP of  Operations. You’ll be responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities across the plant, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and improving processes to drive equipment reliability, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. You will work closely with the engineering team to address recurring downtime issues and optimize machine performance, all while ensuring the safety and compliance of the operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 12 maintenance professionals, ensuring appropriate coverage and support across all shifts.
  • Partner with the Engineering department to support plant processes and solve engineering challenges (approximately 20% of the time).
  • Drive the development and implementation of a comprehensive Maintenance Program, focusing on predictive and preventative maintenance techniques.
  • Lead the timely and efficient installation of new machinery, ensuring effective lessons learned and process improvements.
  • Manage contracts for outside vendors providing maintenance services and ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
  • Drive improvements in equipment reliability, waste reduction, and plant productivity.
  • Lead efforts in managing maintenance costs and contributing to the company budget in collaboration with the finance team.
  • Ensure that the maintenance department exceeds compliance in safety, health, environmental, and quality guidelines.
  • Establish and track performance metrics for maintenance projects, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Manage maintenance validations (protocols) in line with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative relationship with the operations team and contribute to a culture of customer focus and team engagement.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering or maintenance management roles.
  • 3+ years of experience managing a team of 5+ maintenance technicians.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and driving cultural change toward continuous improvement.
  • Experience with FDA regulations and manufacturing processes in regulated industries (medical device, pharma, or food production) is a plus.
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of successfully leading and developing teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant certifications (i.e., CMRP) are a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to implement systems to improve reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional relationships and engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in documenting maintenance activities, performance metrics, and compliance reports.
