POSITION SUMMARY
The Business Development Manager, Executive Education (ExecEd) is a newly created role for the Foundation and reports to the President of Corporate Solutions, LLC or Associate Dean for Executive Education. This highly motivated professional will lead our work to grow the corporate client base for ExecEd at the Darla Moore School of Business and to cultivate meaningful partnerships with client corporations that link custom executive education solutions and Open Enrollment programs to their needs.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
New Client Development
- Work within a team to grow the business and to sell executive education products and services achieving quarterly lead generation and annual sales goals.
- Collaborate with the Associate Dean of Corporate Relations and the Chief External Relations Officer to develop relationships with Fortune 1000 and high-growth companies in strategic markets.
- Connect with Moore School-affiliated leaders, including the Board of Trustees, Board of Advisors, and other established groups of engaged corporate leaders to elevate their knowledge of ExecEd and pursue program opportunities.
- Collaborate with other company facing departments at the Darla Moore School of Business to identify new opportunities, such as Academic Centers and Office of Career Management.
- Make initial connections and schedule appointments to explore custom program and group enrollment needs.
- Listen closely to clients and potential clients to identify business education needs and translate those needs to the product and learning design team; ensure effective handoffs to internal partners.
- Develop strategies to expand successful ExecEd programs into more companies and other organizations in an industry and to adjacent industries.
- Attend and represent ExecEd at Chamber of Commerce and other similar events.
Marketing
- Identify target companies’ profiles.
- Research and develop a list of companies within the target market segment for prospecting.
- Build a viable pipeline of prospective company clients.
- Provide field level insight to inform effective marketing positioning and campaign development.
Sales Operations
- Design sales processes.
- Establish system to track leads, contacts, opportunities, and activities.
- Develop and execute post-event communications, including personalized emails to cultivate long-term relationships.
- Learn the business of executive education and existing ExecEd offerings.
- Identify competitors of ExecEd at other business schools and consultants and understand their product offerings.
- Stay apprised of industry trends, data, and research.
- Participate in trade organizations to stay current on market trends and demonstrate industry leadership.
Other Responsibilities
- Represent ExecEd at events and through thought leadership.
- Identify professional development needs and propose appropriate solutions.
- Other duties and projects as assigned that advance the mission of Executive Education.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree is required for consideration.
- 5+ years of related experience in sales and business development or executive education.

- Previous professional experience in an educational, service or management consulting environment is an asset.
