We are seeking a professional Cost Accountant for an excellent Manufacturing client in Houston, TX. This is a full time, hybrid, temporary contract position. The duration of the contract is 6 months to 1 year. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of Cost Accounting experience and will have strong ERP system skills.
Job Description:
- Maintain the standard cost system for manufactured products
- Monitor and finalize the manufacturing work order process into inventory
- Review, correct, and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Prepare and analyze monthly gross profit reports
- Develop metrics for analyzing operating results
- Maintain general ledger (G/L) accounts associated with inventory and ensure they are balanced
- Manage variance reserves and expenses including purchase price variance, standard revaluation, usage variances, and overhead variances
- Prepare journal entries, schedules, and reports
- Develop monthly forecasted gross profit
- Assist in preparing audit schedules and the annual budget
- Calculate elimination entries
- Process manufacturing transactions
- Audit and assist in periodic physical inventories at multiple locations
- Prepare weekly backlog reports
- Calculate monthly sales incentive payments
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 2-3 years of experience in cost accounting
- Strong ERP skills
- Strong Excel skills
Hours:
- Monday to Friday (8am to 5pm)
- Hybrid – 3 days onsite; 2 days remote
- 6 months to 1 year contract
Pay:
- $125,000 – $130,000 (Depending on qualifications & expereince)
