Continuous Improvement Engineer

We are working with a progressive $1.4MM manufacturing leader who is creating a position for a continuous improvement engineer.  This company has well tenured employees, mostly because they offer opportunities for advancement.  This position is highly visible and will have a variety of ultimate career paths. Position Overview:
As a Continuous Improvement Engineer, you will play a critical role in identifying, implementing, and sustaining improvements in our manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will be a quick learner, highly analytical, bilingual, and possess Lean training or certifications. They will have the opportunity to significantly impact our operational efficiency and product quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Conduct data analysis and root cause analysis to identify areas of improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies for process optimization and waste reduction.
  • Conduct time studies, process mapping, and value stream analysis to identify inefficiencies.
  • Lead Lean initiatives and projects aimed at improving productivity and efficiency.
  • Manage a portfolio of process improvement projects.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Train and mentor team members on Lean principles and best practices.
  • Act as a change agent, driving a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Ensure that improvements are sustained over time through effective documentation and standardization of processes.
  • Support the deployment of Lean methodologies and tools to streamline processes and eliminate waste.
  • Comply with company policies and support company activities that improve competitive financial performance, regulatory compliance, and community acceptance.

Travel: Some travel may be required (conferences, trade shows, etc.)

Qualifications – Required:
  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing) or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team and successfully leverage internal and external resources.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, MS Project, Tableau, and basic statistical tools.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments, prioritize and meet budgets and deadlines, and achieve objectives.
