An educational Organization in Greenville is seeking an experienced candidate for an Accountant/Fiscal Analyst role.  The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting, knowledge of the non-profit or education industry, and strong technical skills.


Responsibilities:
  • Recording and monitoring financial transactions and maintaining chart of accounts
  • Ensuring accurate documentation of all financial transaction
  • Executing banking transactions between accounts
  • Reconciling general ledger accounts and bank statements and preparing bank deposits.
  • Analyze and investigate complex problems within financial records and communicate issues with supervisors, departments, agencies and bank representatives 
  • Review and evaluate existing financial policies, programs, plans, systems, operations, procedures and documents to ensure internal safeguards and to develop improvements 
  • Evaluate and recommend accounting system modifications, policies and program objectives impacting college management, organization and processes.  
  • Service all assigned bank accounts on a continuing basis 
  • Maintain accounting systems for the investment and debt management areas and prepare related reports.
  • Review and evaluate loan and investment accounts
  • Reviews and prepare complex budgets for completeness
  • Analyze, prepare and distribute financial reports, projections and statements
  • Compile and analyze monthly financial reports and consolidated statements 
  • Work with Foundation management to oversee investment management firm and adherence to Investment Policy Statement.
  • Provide available to spend information from individual endowed funds for scholarships and ensure accurate tracking of expenditures for endowed and restricted scholarship funds.
  • Manage monthly and year-end closing processes
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 2 – 4 years of accounting experience
  • Experience in education or nonprofit a plus
  • Microsoft Excel skills
Compensation and Benefits:
  • $50,000 – $60,000/yr
