SUMMARY:

Performs advanced technical services in the day-to-day operation of a desktop PC hardware and software support environment. The Desktop/Hardware Analyst works under the supervision of the Desktop/Hardware Manager to meet team goals and deadlines while providing daily status updates and communicating with co-workers regularly.

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for routine configuration of client computer devices including ensuring the proper installation of OS, applications, and driver packages, using industry standard tools.
  • Perform setup, configuration, and processing of equipment prior to being deployed to end users.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and inventory end user equipment that is returned due to technical issues or for reassignment.
  • Assist in maintaining an orderly and structured storage of hardware items and disposal of equipment following Agency standards.
  • Technical support for the client-side of the security alert system, Alertus.
  • Assists in daily management of applications and tasks assigned to the hardware team.
  • Support telephone system and backup to Telephone System Analyst.
  • Works to continually improve business processes and streamline operational efficiency.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidates must be able to multi-task efficiently; maintain a positive, courteous, and calm demeanor under pressure; demonstrate the highest level of communication/customer service skills at all times; be able to hear and speak clearly; possess strong written and oral communication skills, employ excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, and be able to succeed in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Knowledge of hardware and software systems setup. Knowledge of computer equipment operations and capabilities. Skilled in the maintenance and repair of desktop PC and printer hardware.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, or a related field and at least three (3) to five (5) years of experience in areas of system administration, network administration and/or information technology administration is required or an associate degree in a similar field with (5) years of relevant work experience.
  • Must obtain ITIL certification within1 year of hire.
