Our IT Manager oversees the management, maintenance, and support of all FGP’s technology platforms. This role works closely with the leadership team and the Managed Service Provider (MSP) to create strategies that improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and security of the company’s IT assets and information. This collaboration is essential for the success and growth of FGP.

This role provides a practical approach to identifying, researching, and resolving technical issues, while also performing various diagnostic and mentoring tasks for other IT staff. This role also manages and guarantees that exceptional service is delivered to end-users. The IT Manager is responsible for creating and keeping documentation of networks and systems up to date, using experience and judgment to develop strategic plans and objectives.

Strategic Partnership

  • Aims to gain a comprehensive understanding of the business challenges faced by each line of business.
  • Develops project plans, designs, and implements solutions in alignment with the company’s initiatives.
  • Accountable for ensuring the stability, reliability, recoverability, and security of the company’s IT assets and information.
  • Demonstrates transparency with the Leadership Team concerning the company’s IT environment and its activities.
  • Acts as an advisor within the growing business and serves as the company’s subject matter expert.
  • Serves as a liaison between FGP IT and managed service providers, key vendors, and other business partners.
  • Continuously monitors emerging technologies and best practices to recommend suitable solutions for the business.

IT Operations

  • Maintains comprehensive documentation related to server and network topology, equipment, applications, and configurations.
  • Manages standard system administration, including system and applications upgrades and installation, update management, problem determination and resolution, performance analysis, backup and restoration of services, voice services, information security, etc.
  • Responsible for establishing and enforcing FGP’s approved IT standards.
  • Keeps up-to-date with the latest industry information, changes, and advancements.
  • Identifies and sources the appropriate technology hardware to meet end-user requests and needs.

IT Support

  • Ensures exceptional customer service and support for all FGP employees in relation to IT systems, applications, and platforms.
  • Manages the mentorship of IT Support Specialist and oversees the recruitment of additional team members as the company expands.
  • Provides occasional Tier I and Tier II support in the absence of the IT Support Specialist.

Required Experience

  • High school diploma and relevant industry certifications/experience
  • Five to Seven years of prior IT infrastructure management and end-user support experience
  • Network/Server/Workstation configuration and troubleshooting experience
  • Hands-on experience managing Windows Server Platforms 2016-2019
  • Two plus years experience with server virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with wired and wireless networking technologies. (Cisco or Cisco Meraki preferred)
  • Practical experience with SentinelOne or equivalent EDR and backup/disaster recovery platforms and processes
  • Utilizes tools effectively to resolve issues and knows when to engage MSP or external vendor resources for prompt and efficient solution implementation

Preferred Experience

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in IT-related field a plus
  • Microsoft certifications a plus
  • VCP certification a plus
  • CCNA certification a plus
  • Experience within a service-based industry

Additional Information:

  • This role often requires transporting and placing computer, server, and networking equipment typically weighing less than 50 pounds.
  • The responsibilities of this position will mainly take place onsite in Greenville, SC, with occasional travel to offices in Columbia, SC, and Charleston, SC.
