A local church in Spartanburg is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the Groups and Discipleship Team plays a key role in supporting the church’s vision by providing essential administrative, operational, and logistical assistance.

Qualifications & Core Responsibilities
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills, with attention to detail and efficiency.
  • Clear, professional, and gracious communication, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • The ability to anticipate needs, manage time effectively, and maintain discretion with confidential information.
Primary duties include:
  • Ministry Support:
    • Assist the Minister of Groups and Discipleship and supporting ministries.
    • Provide administrative support for Women’s Ministry, including daily tasks, event planning, and discipleship coordination.
    • Support the College and Young Adults Ministry with discipleship and strategic initiatives.
  • Group and Event Coordination:
    • Follow up with individuals interested in joining a Group.
    • Coordinate logistics for Groups and Discipleship events, including scheduling, setup, décor, and event planning.
    • Attend and contribute to weekly team meetings and brainstorming sessions.
    • Manage workflows related to Life Groups and Leader Development, providing regular updates.
    • Maintain Life Groups signage, listings, and organizational materials.
    • Submit facility and media requests, and ensure web pages for the ministry are current.
    • Order and distribute curriculum as needed for different ministry areas.
    • Track and manage attendance, rosters, and reports for Life and Study Groups.
  • Administrative Tasks:
    • Handle printing, mailings, purchase orders, and check requests.
    • Support other ministry areas as needed, including Deaf Ministry, Adoption & Foster Care, and special projects.

  • Communicate regularly with Group leaders and provide administrative support for additional projects or events as required.

Schedule: Sundays 7-12pm, Monday through Thursday 8-5pm

Compensation: $32,000 per year
