The Patient Services Specialist will assist patients, clinics and providers regarding eligibility requirements. This position will coordinate and process patient applications into pharmacy software system.
 
 
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, clinics, and providers with timely responses to telephone and email inquiries regarding eligibility questions, application status, and other application inquiries.  Facilitate the resolution of patient complaints and concerns.
  • Organize daily application batches followed by Medicaid check, eligibility of application and required documents, data entry into the pharmacy software program, and preparation and checking of daily edit reports to ensure data accuracy.
  • Prepare reports required to process patient approval letters and monthly renewal notifications.
  • Fill in, as needed, for any position in the department:  eligibility, hospital advocate application processing, data entry, reporting, receptionist, etc.
  • When available, provide patients with information for other health care provider resources.
  • Assist in training new departmental personnel.
  • Communicate with other departments regarding the patient application process and procedure
  • Assist in preparation of documents required for pharmaceutical audits.
  •  Must comply with all HIPAA and safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  •  Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus but not required for this role.
