POSITION SUMMARY

As the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Clubhouse International, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the marketing and communication strategies of an organization that is transforming lives. Clubhouse International is on the forefront of creating inclusive communities that offer individuals recovering from mental illness the opportunity to lead productive, fulfilling lives. Yet, our story remains largely untold.

 

In this pivotal role, you will be at the heart of elevating our global visibility and brand presence. You will craft strategies to enhance our reputation, build deeper connections with key stakeholders, and amplify the voices of those whose lives we touch. Working closely with the CEO and teams across the organization, you will ensure our message reaches and resonates with a global audience, driving awareness, donor engagement, and community support.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing Strategy & Brand Management

  • Partner with members of the team and key stakeholders and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with the organization’s mission and amplifies its goals.
  • Elevate and protect the nonprofit’s brand identity, ensuring consistent and engaging representation across all channels.
  • Leverage data analytics to assess the effectiveness of marketing initiatives, refining strategies to maximize impact.
  • Develop and oversee the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to support strategic initiatives.

 

Digital Marketing & Content Development

  • Lead innovative digital marketing initiatives, including website management, SEO, social media, email marketing, and online advertising campaigns.
  • Inspire and guide the development of compelling content, such as articles, videos, graphics, and more, to engage donors and stakeholders effectively.
  • Ensure digital marketing efforts support the organization’s overall goals and resonate with the target audience.

 

Donor & Community Engagement

  • Cultivate strong relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners through effective communication and marketing strategies.
  • Act as the organization’s spokesperson, managing media relations, and crafting impactful press releases.
  • Lead public relations initiatives while navigating crisis communication with poise and professionalism.
  • Drive donor engagement strategies by fostering deeper connections and aligning communication to maintain long-term relationships.

 

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor the marketing and communications team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous growth.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (program managers, development, and others) to ensure marketing efforts align with fundraising, events, and programmatic activities.
  • Maintain relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and aligned strategies.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 7+ years of leadership experience in marketing or communications, ideally within the nonprofit sector. Proven track record of developing and executing strategic marketing plans.
  • Strong expertise in digital marketing, including SEO, social media, and email marketing. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring a team to achieve collective success.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and marketing tools/software, including:
  • Donor or CMS management software (e.g., Blackbaud, Salesforce, Virtuous)
  • Email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact)
  • Online survey platforms (e.g., SurveyMonkey)
  • Website Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress, Dreamweaver)
  • Adobe PDF tools/Canva or InDesign for image management
  • Google Analytics/Google AdWords
