Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Branch Manager, the Service Technician is responsible for performing periodic maintenance, repair, replacement and troubleshooting assignments on most models of CAT, Kalmar, Jungheinrich, Mitsubishi, Kalmar and along with other competitive material handling equipment.
Duties
- Able to troubleshoot and diagnose all major systems.
- Overhaul, repair, or replace systems or components, including circuit boards and other electrical parts, hydraulic, mechanical, L.P. systems, power steering, transmissions, and engines.
- Repair faults in all major components or systems, including electrical, hydraulics and mechanical.
- Proper use of all special and diagnostic tools.
- Provide advanced diagnostics and repairs for all major systems of material handling Equipment.
- Aid less experienced technicians as required.
- Follow vendor procedures for warranty and return policies.
- Follows all safety procedures in performing work as well as company policies.
- Properly identify and order all necessary replacement parts.
- Operate service van in a clean, safe, and secure manner following all required safety rules for the job.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or technical college preferred or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience evaluating and repairing forklifts, heavy equipment, tractors, automobiles, or similar pieces of equipment; Industry experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of Hydraulic Systems.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Must be computer literate, able to use tablet and a laptop for field diagnostics and internet resources.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, be able to pass preemployment drug screens, background checks, and physicals for lifting capabilities.
Pay:
- $55,000 – $65,000
