Our client is seeking a Director of Development to support the following duties:

- Providing strategy, leadership, direction, coordination and management of all levels of giving for all programs within the College of Education
- Developing priorities and philanthropic strategy in collaboration with critical College Administrators and the Executive Director, implementing strategic plans, and inspiring stakeholders support of these priorities to fulfill the College’s mission and support their ability to implement programs and initiatives
- Communicating, collaborating and coordinating between the College and Advancement division, as well as creating productive partnerships with other college and unit fundraising programs

Responsibilities:
- Fundraising:
- Manages a dynamic portfolio of prospects/donors who have the capacity to make high-value philanthropic major gifts
- Qualifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards gifts from donors, alumni, and friends through annual visits
- Raises a minimum of $750K-$1.25M on an annual basis with subsequent years’ goals determined in conjunction with the Executive Director
- Coordinates cultivation, stewardship and donor engagement opportunities/events for assigned donors and the College of Education
- College Leadership and Engagement:
- Establishes strong partnerships with the Dean and strategic leaders within the College
- Leads efforts for the unit for the upcoming capital campaign by collaborating with College and supporting unit/program leadership to develop philanthropic strategy that advances the key priorities for the campaign and the College’s mission
- Engages actively with the college leadership in the cultivation and stewardship efforts of top donors and prospects
- Serves as the primary liaison and mission critical link between the Advancement division and the College and its supporting units/programs
- Strategic Collaboration and Facilitation:
- Build productive relationships across the university
- Facilitate and staff meetings with university leaders and prospective donors
- Duties include collaborating with Marketing and Communications on print, electronic, and social media materials
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5-10 years of fundraising, development, or sales experience
- High technical aptitude
- Strong client relations skills
