A well-known client in Downtown Columbia is adding an Engagement Communications Manager to their team. This position will develop and lead the marketing and communications activities that effectively promote our client’s mission to demonstrate the inextricable link between business growth and business education.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic and creative person that will lead the team to build, manage and continually improve a portfolio of marketing assets and advocacy tools, both traditional and online; promote senior-level engagement across constituent groups; and craft compelling content strategies that enhance advocacy and drive business objectives.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Identify needs, develop a roadmap and manage the design and development of print and digital marketing assets and advocacy tools
  • Develop and update presentation materials to resonate with target corporate, government and non-profit audiences
  • Develop imagery and produce other creative assets
  • Develop a Canva toolkit for staff use
  • Oversee the build of a compelling on-line presence, including a robust website and LinkedIn page
  • Plan and support the design and development of other digital tools and assets, e.g., video, email marketing, digital newsletters, etc.
  • Maintain marketing assets and advocacy tools, ensuring content is current, relevant and high-impact
  • Liaise with technical teams and manage vendors to ensure performance of digital assets
  • Ensure all communications efforts reflect cultural and brand platforms, maintaining consistency across all channels and touch points
  • Gauge the effectiveness of marketing and promotion efforts with a test-learn orientation and focus on continuous improvement
  • Develop a plan for and execute thought leadership, and both programmatic and just-in-time content marketing
  • Develop and execute a social media content strategy, and manage social media engagement
  • Support development of and manage earned media and public relations strategies
  • Identify and manage speaking engagements for leadership
  • Facilitate writing of articles, speeches and other materials for publication across channels
  • Identify, document, communicate and continuously improve technology, marketing and communications procedures, playbooks and best practices

Qualifications Include:
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of related experience in marketing, communications, digital marketing and/or related functions.
  • Proven success in developing and/or managing successful marketing and communications programs.
  • Must have experience providing strategic and tactical marketing and communications support, with demonstrated skill at both leading and doing.
  • Experience and proficiency in Canva
  • Experience and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and the ability to quickly learn new marketing technology
