A well-established law firm in Birmingham, AL is hiring a Legal Records Clerk to join their team in a support seat. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a law office, ideally with some exposure to litigation. Familiarity with case terminology is very helpful.

This is an on-site, temp-to-hire position.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and catalog physical and electronic client records
  • Utilize the Document Management System to establish and manage transfer folders
  • Create and update Excel spreadsheets for incoming and outgoing attorney data records
  • Maintain iManage platform for authorizations related to client matter transfers
  • Liaise with staff on records-related issues and closings
  • Collaborate with the Transfer team to manage all incoming and outgoing data transfers
  • Work closely with Records, IT staff, and Attorneys on the transfer of client records
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports to identify matters nearing closure
Qualifications:
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with document management software, preferably legal applications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Dropbox
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Capable of working collaboratively as well as independently
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • High integrity and discretion in managing confidential information
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, Temp-to-hire
Compensation: $20-24/hour depending on experience
