OVERVIEW

A high end law firm in Columbia is seeking a Paralegal who is experienced in employment law that wants to work at a nice office downtown on Main Street. This person will work Monday-Friday 8-5 on-site and pay will range from $60-$93k/year (paid hourly) based on experience. This position bills about 1400 hours per year.

DUTIES

  • Formatting legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, etc.
  • E-filing legal documents
  • Corresponding with clients
  • Drafting pleadings, motions and appellate documents and filing them with the court
  • Scheduling calendar hearings and other meetings according to deadlines
  • Organizing case files, managing logistics etc.
  • Maintaining pleadings and discovery indexes
  • Organizing exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices
  • Gathering relevant information from a variety of sources
  • Providing assistance with case settlements
  • Preparing exhibits to motions

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years paralegal experience with a large firm (large firm experience is required)
  • Must be comfortable working M-F onsite (not remote)
  • Employment law experience is a plus
  • E-filing experience preferred
  • Proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite

PAY/BENEFITS

  • $60-$93k/year (this will not pay 93k/year if someone has closer to the minimum amount of experience, that pay is for someone with longer career experience)
